The launch of The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection has suffered another delay. Evrima, the first of three Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection vessels, should originally have set sail in January 2020. Now, Evrima will debut in Lisbon, Portugal on 06 May 2022.

The company tell us the ongoing impact of COVID-19, as well as construction issues, made a delay in the inaugural voyage unavoidable.

“While we are eager to welcome guests on board Evrima, we have had to reevaluate the timing of our first voyage given the rapidly changing circumstances and their impact on Evrima’s completion.”

Indeed, Evrima has been beset by construction delays at the Hijos de J. Barreras shipyard in Vigo, Spain. So concerning were these delays that it forced a company affiliated with The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection to take over the shipyard.

The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection say this effectively gives oversight of construction to ensure the timely completion of Evrima.

Delayed Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection maiden voyage rescheduled for May 2022

Evrima’s first guests will now sail an 11-night itinerary from Lisbon, Portugal on 06 May 2022. The voyage will call at exotic ports including Casablanca and Tangier in Morocco. Not to mention Ibiza and Mallorca before Evrima arrives in Barcelona, Spain on 17 May 2022.

Guests (as well as their travel agents) impacted by the schedule change are being contacted directly by The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection. The company tell us those guests can choose to reschedule their voyage or discuss reimbursement options.
