The intimate cruise line is investing heavily in fleet-wide enhancements – including 12 exclusive new suites aboard Azamara Quest

Small-ship cruising has found its next evolution. Azamara Cruises, the boutique line known for lingering late in port and crafting deeply immersive destination experiences, has announced Azamara Forward – the most extensive renovation program in the company’s 18-year history. Rolling out across its four-ship fleet beginning December 2026, the transformation promises to elevate an already refined product into something altogether more sophisticated.

The enhancements touch every corner of the guest experience, from stateroom soft goods to dining venues, public spaces to an entirely new accommodation deck. But the headline act belongs to Azamara Quest, which will debut 12 brand-new premier suites positioned on a freshly constructed deck at the ship’s summit.

A new pinnacle for Quest

The centrepiece of Azamara Forward is the creation of a new accommodation space on Deck 11 – the new Penthouse Deck – rising above the ship’s existing spa and fitness facilities. Here, perched at the forward corners with commanding 270-degree ocean views, sit two Panorama Suites. These represent the new apex of Azamara’s accommodation hierarchy, surpassing even the line’s celebrated Owner’s Suites in size, positioning and privilege.

Each Panorama Suite unfolds across separate living, dining and sleeping quarters, complemented by walk-in wardrobes and spa-calibre bathrooms. The butler service, Starlink connectivity, ultimate beverage package and priority dining access come standard – the full constellation of top-tier benefits one expects at this level.

Flanking these flagship accommodations are ten Grandview Suites, also on Deck 11. While the 243-square-foot Grandview cabins are marginally more compact than the existing 266-square-foot Continent Suites, they compensate with contemporary design, dual-sink bathrooms featuring walk-in showers, and those unobstructed floor-to-ceiling windows that capitalise on their elevated vantage point. Suite guests receive complimentary specialty dining and premium beverage packages.

Above all this, a new Deck 12 houses the reimagined Sun Deck – an open-air sanctuary offering the same sweeping panoramas and sail-away moments that have always defined the experience, now from an even loftier perch.

Culinary evolution across the fleet

Beyond Quest’s new suites, Azamara Forward introduces dining and social space refinements that will ultimately span all four ships in the fleet.

The Chef’s Table, long a favourite among returning guests, graduates from pop-up concept to permanent restaurant. Taking over the space currently occupied by the onboard library on Deck 10, this dedicated venue will rotate through regionally inspired menus reflecting the destinations on each voyage.

The programming expands to include guest chef collaborations, winemaker dinners and select market-to-table experiences that trace ingredients from local port markets to finished plates onboard.

Atlas Bar – which debuted successfully aboard Azamara Onward on Deck 10 – will be reimagined and rolled out fleet-wide, though relocated to Deck 5 just outside Discoveries Restaurant. This positioning transforms it into a central pre-dinner gathering point where destination-inspired cocktails and complimentary beverages set the tone for the evening. The space is designed to encourage lingering conversations that extend well past the final course.

While the reimagined Atlas Bar represents a welcome enhancement to the social spaces, the program stops short of addressing capacity concerns that can arise during pre-dinner hours when ships sail at full occupancy. The existing bar and lounge footprint appears to remain largely unchanged, which may prove challenging during peak periods.

Discoveries Restaurant itself receives a comprehensive redesign with updated furnishings, enhanced lighting and a warm new colour palette. The Cabaret Lounge emerges completely transformed with contemporary furnishings, refreshed flooring and a redesigned dance floor for evening entertainment. Even The Sanctum Spa treatment rooms and public facilities throughout each ship receive thoughtful updates.

Refined sanctuaries at sea

Existing Continent Suites and standard staterooms will receive a softer touch – predominantly cosmetic updates to upholstery, curtains and carpeting in a lighter palette inspired by sky and ocean.

The cruise line has not indicated whether the existing USB charging ports, which remain limited by contemporary standards, will be upgraded as part of the refresh. The effect is restorative rather than revolutionary – creating calm, contemporary sanctuaries that feel both current and enduring.

The philosophy underlying Azamara Forward is one of evolution rather than reinvention. The line’s core promise – late nights and overnights in port, extended destination days, intimate ship environments – remains unchanged. These enhancements simply raise the baseline, ensuring the onboard product matches the calibre of the experiences waiting ashore.

Azamara Quest inaugurates the program on 18 December 2026, perfectly timed ahead of the line’s 2027 World Cruise. Azamara Onward follows in 2027, with timelines for Journey and Pursuit to be announced. For cruisers who’ve long appreciated Azamara’s destination-first approach, these upgrades represent a compelling reason to return – or finally book that first voyage.
