Luxury cruisers expect more from their travels. They like to immerse themselves deeper, discovering the local culture and natural environment. Now Silversea are offering their guests even more with a new collection of extended land programs starting this September.

Silversea call it the Signature Land Programme Collection and it covers nine breathtaking destinations, from Iceland to Nepal. Each of these magnificent land programs can be combined with select cruises on the Silversea classic and Expedition fleet.

The man who’s guided the Silversea Expedition ethos since its inception is Conrad Combrink. He’s spoken on these pages many times over the years and is understandably upbeat about the new land programs: “With our new Signature Land Programmes, we are expanding our range of land-based experiences to unlock the World’s authentic beauty for our guests”.

The new Silversea land programs will enable guests to experience cultures and places rarely visited by others. Like a fascinating six-night journey through beautiful Bolivia. It will include an introduction to the Uru-Aymara people in Titicama as well as an overland trip in La Paz.

Another highlight of the Signature Land Programme Collection is sure to be the four-night tour of Iceland. Silversea guests will visit the famous Geysir and waterfalls. They will be able to swim in the Blue Lagoon, travel by helicopter to view the volcano at Thrihnukagigur, and sample traditional food in Reykjavík’s finest restaurants.

We especially like the six-night tour of Nepal which includes transportation by helicopter, boat, and elephant! These modes of transport will take Silversea guests to see Mount Everest by air, discover the UNESCO-listed Chitwan National Park, and explore the jungle in the company of a local naturalist.

Other Signature Land Programme Collection destinations include Vietnam, Myanmar, Beijing, Canada’s Great Lakes, Sri Lanka and the wine country of Chile.
