The Silver Whisper Silver Suite is perfect for travellers who want more space and as our review shows, it comes with an array of perks to make your cruise more enjoyable.

Not only is the suite itself exceptionally spacious, but it boasts one of the biggest verandas on the Silver Whisper. Only the Owner’s Suite has a larger veranda.

Silver Suite guests are pampered with free afternoon canapés, Champagne and specialty chocolates. And the free laundry service means you’ll never run out of clean clothes.

Position and layout

There are thirteen Silver Suites on the Silver Whisper. All of them are located on deck 7 mid-ship. Each Silver Suite measures an impressive 65 sq. m. (701 sq. ft.) including an expansive 11 sq. m. (123 sq. ft.) veranda. A wide entry hall lined with bookshelves leads to separate sitting and dining areas from which you can access the wonderful teak veranda. Behind the dining area is a super comfortable bedroom and opulent marble bathroom.

Living space

The spacious lounge and dining area is flooded with natural light from floor-to-ceiling glass doors that lead on to a double-sized teak veranda. The sense of space really impressed on our review voyage. The lounge area is perfectly proportioned with two well-sized, crimson coloured armchairs, a 2-seater sofa (which can be converted to a bed) and large coffee table. The entertainment system features a Bang & Olufsen stereo and a large flat screen TV and DVD player. An extensive DVD collection can be found in the ships library.

The dining area is also a generous size. It features a 4-seater dining table and a handsome built-in sideboard upon which sits an Illy Espresso machine as well as daily canapé and caviar menus. Silversea regulars will note the large wall-mouthed flat screen TV has replaced the artwork in the dining area. While practical, we’re not convinced of its aesthetic appeal.

Bedroom

The layout of the Silver Whisper Silver Suite bedroom is unusual. The queen-sized bed is configured diagonally. It is a clever layout that enhances the sense of space.

The bed features a premium mattresses, choice of pillows and Silversea’s signature Pratesi® sheets to ensure a restful sleep.

There is also a flat screen TV, iPod docking station and plenty of storage in the bedroom – even above the bedhead. A vanity mirror completes your intimate slumber space.

An extra large walk-in wardrobe is located between the bedroom and bathroom. It has enough space to fit a typical couple’s entire home wardrobe!

Marble bathroom

The marble bathroom in the Silver Whisper Silver Suite is very large. In fact it is almost as large as the bathroom found in the top of the range Owner’s Suite. The Silver Suite bathroom boasts a separate shower and a full-sized whirlpool tub, as well as a double-vanity and large mirror. There is plenty of storage space either side of the mirror and underneath the vanities. A separate toilet is located between the bathroom and entry hall. Silversea guests may choose either hypoallergenic, Ferragamo or Bvlgari bathroom products. Plush bathrobes, slippers and Silversea flip-flops are also supplied.

Private teak veranda

Perhaps the best aspect of the Silver Whisper Silver Suite is the sun-drenched private veranda. At 11 sq. m. (123 sq. ft.) it is more than double the size of a veranda in a regular suite. We also like the fact it is a genuine teak veranda, not imitation timber as found on many other cruise lines.

The veranda is wide and deep with plenty of space for table and chairs, a sun lounger and ottoman. It’s the perfect place to watch the sunset with complimentary afternoon canapés and Champaign.
