A brand new ultra-luxury cruise line is about to make its debut. Explora Journeys, owned by the MSC shipping group, will launch its first vessel this July.
The 922-guest Explora 1 will make its maiden voyage from Southampton, UK to Copenhagen, Denmark on 17 July 2023. The 15-day sailing will introduce guest to a new style of luxury cruising as it explores the Norwegian fjords and Arctic Circle.
Explora 1 will boast 461 oceanfront suites, Penthouses and Residences, not to mention a choice of 6 restaurants, 12 bars and lounges, 4 swimming pools, and extensive outdoor decks with private cabanas.
The best suites a at sea
The best suite on Explora 1 will be the magnificent Owner’s Residence. This spacious 280 sq. m. / 3,014 sq. ft. suite boasts separate living and dining areas, a private fully-stocked bar and a gracious master bedroom, not to mention an enormous outdoor terrace with private infinity whirlpool.

In addition to the Owners Residence there are also multi-room Ocean Residences and one-bedroom Penthouse Suites.
However, most guests will stay in Ocean Terrace Suites. These 35 sq. m. / 377 sq. ft. entry-level suites are the largest in their class. They feature a stylish combined sleeping and sitting area, walk-in closet with vanity, a marble bathroom and a sun terrace with chaise lounge. Grand Ocean Terrace Suites have an even larger veranda.
Explora Journeys will debut an ultra-luxury fleet
Explora 1 is the first of up to 6 vessels for the new ultra-luxury cruise line. Indeed, a second vessel is already under construction. Each of these cruise ships will meet the highest standards of sustainability, with the latest environmental and marine technologies

Explora I will be christened by renowned oceanographer and conservationist Dr. Sylvia Earle at Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy on 8 July 2023.
