The quarters
The suite unfolds as a study in spatial generosity, offering distinct zones for repose and leisure. The sleeping area, anchored by a queen-sized bed (admittedly erring on the side of plushness for those who prefer firmness), transitions seamlessly into a thoughtfully appointed sitting area.
Here, the clever metamorphosis of coffee table to dining table speaks to the ship’s commitment to versatility without compromise.
The Italian marble bathroom stands as a temple to personal ritual, featuring dual basins, a walk-in shower, and a sybaritic tub.
One notes, however, the lighting scheme in the suite skews toward the atmospheric rather than the practical – particularly in the bathroom.
The private veranda
Perhaps the suite’s most compelling feature is its expansive veranda. Generously proportioned to accommodate proper furnishings, it offers blessed seclusion – that most precious commodity at sea.
However, the replacement of traditional teak with synthetic decking represents the one discordant note in an otherwise impeccable composition.
The practicalities
Storage solutions approach the sublime with a walk-in closet of exceptional proportions, capable of housing a wardrobe fit for multiple ports of call. The dedicated makeup area provides sanctuary for one’s cosmetic ritual and organisation, while the substantial writing desk serves equally well as a hub for correspondence or digital creative efforts.
The suite’s approach to modern connectivity reveals a certain generational tension – USB ports flank the bed but cater only to legacy devices, while traditional power access is limited to a single EURO/US outlet at the writing desk.
Those requiring bedside power for medical devices such as CPAP machines will find themselves improvising.
