Regent Seven Seas have revealed the third and final specialty restaurant onboard the new Seven Seas Explorer. Called Pacific Rim, it will showcase an innovative pan-Asian menu set amid opulent asiatic decor.

A modern take on the traditional Tibetan prayer wheel will greet diners in the restaurant lobby while soft lighting will highlight other intricate architectural details throughout. Pacific Rim will be divided into a number of intimate spaces with the clever use of Chinese screens and traditional Japanese rain chains suspended from frames.

The walls of Pacific Rim will be covered in a slightly iridescent crystalline matrix stones and Thai wood carvings, while on the ceiling a latticework of brushed brass cubes with an antiqued patina complete the zen-like ambience.

The star of the show show will of course be the food. Regent Seven Seas have also revealed a mouthwatering sample from the Pacific Rim menu. Starters will include:

  • Tempura encrusted crispy soft shell crab with a touch of heat from a green chili aioli.
  • Succulently caramelized cassia-braised pork belly topped with perfectly grilled diver scallops.
  • Seaweed and wakame salad drizzled with a black pepper soy and onion dressing.

After a sensational starter, diners may choose from an array of delectable main courses including:

  • Tempura battered Canadian lobster with shiso leaf finished with an orange ponzu sauce and spicy mayo.
  • Miso-spiced black cod wrapped in hoba leaf accompanied by pickled daikon and spicy den miso.
  • Grilled Korean barbecue lamb chops, wok-fried beans, eryngii mushroom and gochujang dressing.

Pacific Rim joins the sophisticated American steakhouse Prime 7 and the modern French gourmet restaurant Chartreuse as the third specialty dining venue onboard the Seven Seas Explorer.

The Seven Seas Explorer will debut on 20 July 2016 sailing from Monte Carlo to Venice.
