Seabourn return to cruising this July. The ultra-luxury cruise line will make its first voyages in the Mediterranean and Caribbean since the pandemic forced a pause in operations.

Seabourn Ovation & Odyssey lead the return to cruising

Seabourn Ovation will welcome guests back on board in Athens, Greece on 3 July 2021. A few weeks later Seabourn Odyssey will also set sail again, departing Bridgetown, Barbados on 18 July 2021.

The upcoming voyages on Seabourn Ovation and Seabourn Odyssey are only open to guests who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Also, Seabourn have said they are ‘actively implementing plans’ to ensure all crew on these voyages are also fully vaccinated.

“These are exciting times for all of us and I look forward to being in Athens for that first Seabourn sail.”

Josh Leibowitz, President of Seabourn Cruises

Seabourn tell us they hope to preserve originally published itineraries as much as possible. However, the ongoing pandemic has forced some changes to Seabourn’s return to cruising.

Indeed, after sailing a series of 7-day Greek Island voyages from Athens, Seabourn Ovation will operate European and transatlantic itineraries originally scheduled for Seabourn Sojourn. Ovation will then commence an inaugural season out of Miami, Florida sailing 12 brand-new itineraries in lieu of her cancelled Australian season.

Seabourn Quest

Seabourn expect this years Antarctic season to commence as planned with Seabourn Quest. The ultra-luxury vessel will return to the high seas on a 43-day adventure to the Antarctic peninsular, departing Miami on 7 November 2021.

Seabourn Quest will then commence a series of 3-week long Antarctic voyages taking in Chile, the Falkland Islands and Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Seabourn Sojourn’s World Cruise

Sojourn should resume service on 11 January 2022 when she departs Los Angeles for the World Cruise. Interestingly, this contrasts with other luxury cruise lines, many of which have cancelled their 2022 World Cruises.

Seabourn Encore’s Asian itineraries

Sadly, the pandemic has forced the cancellation of Seabourn Encore’s entire Asian season. Now the ultra-luxury vessel will complete Seabourn’s return to cruising with a series of new itineraries departing Athens, Greece on 17 April 2022.

Enhanced sanitization

As each ship in the Seabourn fleet returns to service, guests will notice enhanced sanitization measures. In addition, the air filtration systems have had an upgrade designed to replace air in public spaces and staterooms every five to six minutes.
