Silversea have announced plans to transform the decor onboard Silver Whisper. The Silver Whisper refit will give the iconic cruise ship the a similar feel to the line’s acclaimed flagship, Silver Muse.
Silver Whisper will go into dry dock for 11 days from 8 December 2018 for the refurbishment. It will be extensive with all the public areas being refurbished and the suites being upgraded. Indeed some suite categories will be entirely changed.

Refreshed public areas
New carpets will be laid in the hallways, the Dolce Vita bar, the casino, the card/conference room and in the theatre. The Restaurant will also be re-carpeted.
Additionally, the Restaurant will undergo a full upgrade during the Silver Whisper refit. Silversea tell us this will raise the decor to an exceptional new standard.
Le Dame, the specialty restaurant which was formerly known as Le Champagne, will also get new soft furnishings and a polished floor.
The new Zagara Spa on Silver Whisper will get a face lift with new furniture and equipment. So too will the ship’s gym, with new state-of-the-art machinery installed to optimise the Silver Whisper’s wellness facilities.
New suite decor
Every suite onboard Silver Whisper will also get a makeover – from the Owners Suites to the Vista Suites. They will all get new carpets and a stunning new decor in line with the design of Silver Muse. The bathrooms in every suite will also be revitalised with polished granite surfaces.

In addition, 40” flat screen televisions with interactive media systems will be installed in every suite. These will be a major improvement on the existing small TV screens.
Goodbye Terrace Suites
Perhaps one of the biggest changes will be the conversion of the existing nine Terrace Suites into Veranda Suites. These Terrace Suites are all located on deck 5 starboard and they share a common outdoor terrace space. However this space will be partitioned, giving each suite its own private teak veranda. We think these new Veranda Suites will be popular as the position on deck 5 will mean they are likely to be well priced, yet with a great midship location.
A fresh look across the fleet
The Silver Whisper refit is part of a massive fleet wide investment program by Silversea. This includes the conversion of Silver Cloud to an expedition vessel, the lengthening of Silver Spirit and the introduction of Silver Muse. Not to mention the upcoming launch of Silver Moon in 2020.
