Have you ever dreamed of taking a cruise through the Panama Canal? Holland America Line will send 7 of their ships through the famous locks and lakes from November 2015 to April 2016.

The 77km (48 mi) long Panama Canal connects the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans through the Isthmus of Panama. A series of locks raise and lower ships along the canal by a total height of 26m (87ft). The Panama Canal first opened over 100 years ago and it remains a vital maritime link, indeed over 14,000 transits were made last year!

The ms Amsterdam, ms Maasdam, ms Nieuw Amsterdam, ms Oosterdam, ms Veendam and ms Westerdam will offer a total of 11 full transits through the Panama Canal, while ms Zuiderdam will offer 14 itineraries that feature both the southern Caribbean and partial transits.

On each of these HAL Panama Canal cruises guests will be offered enrichment programs including expert historians recounting the history and drama of constructing the famous waterway.
