Silversea’s iconic, ultra-luxury cruise ship Silver Whisper has set sail on her World Cruise 2019 following an extensive refurbishment. The 132-day Silver Whisper World Cruise 2019 departed San Francisco last Sunday bound for London via the idyllic South Pacific, Australia, exotic Asia, and Africa.

The revitalised, 388-guest Silver Whisper emerged from her massive 18-day dry dock refit looking like new. As we have previously reported, it’s all part of Silversea‘s Project Invictus which is designed to enhance the entire fleet.

All the public areas and suites onboard Silver Whisper have now been made over to reflect the decor and style of flagship Silver Muse. A soft palette of teal and creams has been used throughout with dove-grey and charcoal accents. Carpets and soft furnishings were all replaced. There have also been upgrades to the outdoor decking as well as the gym equipment.

Silver Whisper’s World Cruise 2019 has an interesting theme – Tale of Tales. It will see nine celebrated creatives join the ship over the course of the voyage, including travel writer and novelist Paul Theroux as well as big-thinker Alain de Botton.

The creatives, or Tale Teller’s as they are know, will each host a series of lectures for guests. They will also produce a journal or artwork inspired by their destinations and experiences. A copy of each Tale Teller’s journal or artwork will be given to the World Cruise 2019 guests.

Barbara Muckermann, Silversea’s Chief Marketing Officer, said: “We are delighted to have bid Silver Whisper ‘bon voyage’. [Our guest’s] experiences will be enriched by the presence of our nine talented Tale Tellers. We are enabling our guests to travel deeper in every sense of the expression.”

You can be among the first to experience the revitalised Silver Whisper. Silversea have told The Luxury Cruise Review that there is still limited availability for select segments of the World Cruise 2019. Visit the Silversea website for details.
