We all know there’s nothing better than catching your own fish and eating it. Well now you can do it on Princess Cruises!

No, the captain won’t let you throw a line over the side, but you can catch your own fish on shore excursions on Alaskan cruises. It’s part of a new concept called Cook My Catch and is exclusive to Princess Cruises.

The unique experience is available during select shore excursions during port calls in Juneau and Ketchikan. It is also available for guests taking Princess Land & Sea Vacations with stays at Kenai Princess Wilderness Lodge and Copper River Princess Wilderness Lodge.

How does Cook My Catch work

Cook My Catch works like this: When guests return from their excursion they give their catch to the culinary team and tell them how they want it cooked. Simple – Alaskan seafood doesn’t get fresher than that!

Cook My Catch is just one of many enhancements Princess Cruises are making to its North to Alaska program this year. The program partners with local experts to feature authentic Alaska culinary, educational and entertainment experiences. It all enables guests to delve deeper into the fascinating frontier.

Meet sled dog puppies too

Princess Cruises guests have another unique opportunity. They can meet some 4-legged locals whilst in Alaska too. Some of Skagway’s newest sled dogs will come onboard a cruise to Alaska in 2016. Guests will have the opportunity to interact with the puppies, take pictures and meet the dog handlers responsible for training them to be the next generation of Iditarod champions.

Six Princess cruise ships will offer more than 120 Alaska cruise departures during the Alaska summer season from May to September. Voyages sail from San Francisco, Seattle, Vancouver B.C. and Whittier (Anchorage), Alaska.
