Silversea will get a brand new ocean liner. Silver Muse is on order and will be the cruise line’s ninth ship – scheduled for delivered in April 2017.

The Silver Muse will be built by Fincantieri in Italy and will be an evolution of the line’s existing flagship, the Silver Spirit. It will accommodate 596 travellers, slightly more than the Silver Spirit’s capacity of 540 and weigh in at 40,000 tons (4,000 tons heavier than the Spirit).

Silver Muse is on order from the Fincantieri shipyard. They have a long association with the family owned Silversea cruise line. Silversea chairman, Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio, said: “We always had a special relationship with Fincantieri since my father ordered them the first cruise vessels for Sitmar in 1987. Both companies have a clear understanding of what today’s affluent traveller seeks.”

Silversea promise the new Silver Muse will redefine ultra-luxury ocean travel, enhancing the already outstanding small-ship intimacy and spacious all-suite accommodations. The line has told CruiseOyster that the Silver Muse will raise the bar in luxury ocean travel with a range of new features that, for now, will remain under wraps!

According to Enzo Visone, Silversea’s CEO, “With enhanced design specifications and enriched content, the Silver Muse will continue to build on the sophistication, innovative style and ground-breaking concepts for which Silversea ships are renowned. This ship contributes to our ambitious growth plans that will ensure our continued leadership in ultra-luxury cruising.”

Silversea have told us that more details about the new Silver Muse will be announce in the near future.
