Alison's Queen Victoria cruise review
I have never been on a Cunard cruise before, and as you can imagine sailing from Sydney aboard the iconic Queen Victoria was an experience I was looking forward to.
For the most part it did not disappoint.
The plush interior was stunning, along with the bars, shopping arcade and 800 seat theatre, that reminded me of being in London’s West End. I also loved both pools, especially the Lido which was an “adults only” area. The only sour note was a selfish couple that brought their two kids to the enclosure and had to be told 3 times that children were not allowed in the pool.
The stateroom, a standard balcony room, was functional, clean, but not exceptional.
The dining was a mixed affair. Their Verandah restaurant which required an entrance fee was superb, but their main dining room “The Britannia” was ordinary with courses bland and also being rushed as waiters seemed to be overwhelmed and couldn’t even get the wine out in time for the entree.
Having said that, I enjoyed the cruise, but next time I would like to try one of their grills, where I understand the service and facilities are much better.
