Cherie's Norwegian Sun cruise review
Our Alaska cruise from Seward to Vancouver had its highs and lows.
The highs were: experiencing the Hubbard glacier; cruising Glacier Bay and having a balcony cabin. The lows were: very poor customer service in the two free dining rooms; mediocre to poor dinner entrees; horrible vegetarian Indian food in the special buffet set up in Four Seasons dining room; and even though cabin stewardess was efficient and took care of cabin well, there was no verbal communications and no personal welcome when we went to our cabin the first day.
From talking to others, it seems the focus is more on the dining choices that you pay extra for. The buffet was also mediocre with items not replenished quickly enough during peak hours.
This ship was older but we did like the small ship and low passenger capacity. This made getting on and off at ports very stress free even in the port where we had to tender. We also liked to cabin configuration with the sofa near the balcony but it was very tight getting around the end of the bed, especially if configured as twin beds.
More than adequate storage. However, we had done many cruises with Carnival and gotten used to great service in dining rooms and very personable stewards. I doubt we will do another cruise with Norwegian.
