In a move that underscores the growing appetite for intimate, ultra-luxury ocean travel, Regent Seven Seas Cruises has confirmed an order for a third Prestige-class ship, scheduled to debut in 2033. The announcement extends the cruise line’s measured expansion into the upper echelons of the industry, where spaciousness and bespoke service reign supreme.

A new chapter in ultra-luxury cruising

The Prestige-class vessels represent Regent’s first new ship design in a decade, building upon the success of its Explorer-class ships whilst embracing a philosophy that prioritises space over passenger volume. When the first of the new vessels, Seven Seas Prestige, launches in 2026 she’ll be 40 percent larger than her predecessors yet carry only 10 percent more guests – a deliberate choice that results in some of the most generous space-to-guest ratios at sea.

At 77,000 tons and accommodating just 822 guests, these ships are designed for those who view cruising not as a mass-market holiday but as an opportunity for genuine exploration paired with exceptional comfort. With 630 crew members dedicated to just over 800 passengers, the level of attention approaches that of the world’s finest hotels.

Suites that redefine luxury accommodation

All accommodations feature private balconies across 12 suite categories, including four entirely new configurations. The flagship Skyview Regent Suite claims the title of the largest all-inclusive, ultra-luxury cruise ship suite ever created, whilst two-level Skyview and Grand Loft Suites offer a residential feel rarely experienced at sea.

The design philosophy extends throughout the ships’ public spaces, from the light-filled Starlight Atrium to the art-inspired Galileo’s Bar, each thoughtfully conceived to encourage both social connection and quiet contemplation.

A culinary journey across 11 venues

For discerning palates, Regent’s Prestige-class ships deliver what the line calls “Epicurean Perfection” through 11 distinct dining experiences. Azure, a new mezze-style Mediterranean concept, joins signature favourites including Chartreuse, Prime 7, and Pacific Rim. An additional venue remains under wraps, to be revealed closer to the ship’s debut.

This culinary breadth, combined with Regent’s all-inclusive philosophy – encompassing unlimited shore excursions, fine wines and spirits, gratuities, and even complimentary laundry service – removes the nickel-and-diming that can diminish even the most luxurious experiences.

The Fincantieri partnership

The collaboration with Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri represents more than a commercial arrangement; it’s a partnership between two organisations committed to craftsmanship and innovation. Fincantieri’s expertise in creating sustainable, beautifully appointed vessels aligns with Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings’ broader strategy across its three brands: Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises, and Regent Seven Seas Cruises.

With the second Prestige-class ship arriving in 2030 and now this third vessel confirmed for 2033, Regent is positioning itself to capture the continued growth in ultra-luxury travel – a segment that has proven remarkably resilient and continues to attract voyagers seeking substance over scale.

For those who measure the quality of their travels not by the number of fellow passengers but by the depth of experience and breadth of personal space, Regent’s expanding Prestige-class fleet offers a compelling proposition. In an industry often criticised for building ever-larger ships for ever-more passengers, here’s a brand moving decisively in the opposite direction.
