Today four brand new Azamara Cuba voyages were announced and the boutique premium cruise line also revealed two exciting new ports of call on the island nation.

Azamara Quest, which was refurbished in 2016, will return to Cuba for a total of six voyages from November this year. Each voyage originates in Miami, USA.

Azamara Club Cruises made their first visit to Cuba in March. The island was only opened up to cruise ships from the U.S.A. in 2016 after President Obama and Raul Castro mended differences and restored diplomatic relations. In May last year Carnival made history by becoming the first line to sail to Cuba in 5o years and since then there has been a rush to fill demand.

With just 690 passengers, Azamara Quest will offer guests a far more intimate Cuba experience than the large liners. We particularly like their short 4 Night Havana Getaway voyage with an overnight in Havana. It’s a great way to sample the rich culture, history and charms of this vibrant city.

For a more immersive experience we recommend Azamara’s 10 Night Cuba Intensive voyage. It makes maiden calls at Cuba’s second largest city, Santiago de Cuba and at Cienfuegos which is nestled on the south-central coast of the island. There’s also a two night stopover in Havana allowing plenty of time to savour the music from salsa clubs, the scent of hand rolled Cuban cigars, and delicious local cuisine after dark.

Azamara have crafted a range of shore excursion especially for their Azamara Cuba voyages, including a visit to the open air cabaret, a Nelson Dominguez art gallery tour, a ride along the Malecón waterfront in Havana by classic car and a discovery tour of Hemingway’s Havana. All Azamara’s shore excursions are designed to meet U.S. requirements for travel to Cuba.

The first two Azamara Cuba voyages of the season will take place in November 2017, while the remaining four sailings are in January and March 2018.
