Cunard today announced that American music royalty, Natalie Cole, will perform aboard the QM2 this October.
The multiple Grammy Award-winning Ms. Cole will headline the first ever Blue Note jazz-themed cruise and will perform on the evening of 29 October on the QM2 Transatlantic crossing.
Cole was introduced to the world of jazz as a child in the 1950s through her famous father, vocal legend and trailblazer Nat King Cole. Throughout her celebrated career, Natalie has paid tribute to the Latin American, R&B and Jazz genres, as well as to her father through posthumous pairings and renditions of his most popular songs. Travellers on board Queen Mary 2 will have the opportunity to hear Ms. Cole pay tribute to the iconic Blue Note label through song.
Also featured in the Blue Note cruise will be Grammy® Award-winning jazz pianist and record producer Robert Glasper, acclaimed trumpet player Keyon Harrold, tenor saxophonist Marcus Strickland, guitarist Lionel Loueke, bassist Derrick Hodge and drummer Kendrick Scott.
The Natalie Cole – QM2 partnership continues the Cunard tradition of showcasing the worlds finest artists including Duke Ellington and Ella Fitzgerald (who sailed on the beloved Queen Mary), and James Taylor, Carly Simon, and the late jazz legend Dave Brubeck.
