Bigger will be better down under this southern summer with Princess Cruises sending their enormous Emerald Princess to Sydney for the season.
The 3,082-guest mega-liner will go head-to-head with Royal Caribbean’s 4,182-guest Ovation of the Seas in a battle for the lucrative Australasian cruise dollar.
It’s a big win for travelers who are now spoilt for choice. The arrival of the Emerald Princess will introduce a range of exciting new dining, shopping and entertainment offerings to Australian waters.
With its famous harbour, Sydney is known by locals as ‘the emerald city’. So it’s fitting that the Emerald Princess will call Sydney home for her inaugural five-month season of cruises from Sydney, sailing on 13 roundtrip voyages to destinations in the South Pacific, New Zealand and around Australia.
The Emerald Princess is 290m (951ft) long and has 15 passenger decks. Onboard dining highlights include SHARE by Curtis Stone, the warm and inviting Salty Dog gastropub developed in collaboration with Ernesto Uchimura and the ever popular Italian eatery, Sabatini’s.
The Emerald Princess Sydney season will also set the stage for the debut of some great new entertainment offerings in Australia including the much-anticipated onboard musical Magic to Do from Oscar and Tony award-winning Broadway composer Stephen Schwartz.
Guests can also enjoy the spectacular new Voice of the Ocean competition, exclusive to Princess, which brings the spectacle of TV’s wildly popular international singing competition to the high seas.
Also on board are eight showrooms and lounges, two nightclubs and four swimming pools as well as signature Princess offerings such as the childfree Sanctuary, poolside Movies Under the Stars and the luxurious Lotus Spa. Guests can enjoy fantastic shopping, with options including a stunning EFFY jewellery outlet, a first in the Australian market.
The Emerald Princess Sydney season commences 15 November 2016.
