Not a 6 star experience

We had previously sailed with Silversea on a different ship and enjoyed the experience. Silver Cloud cruise around the British Isles was an awful experience. The ship was “tired” and well overdue for a refit. The ship did not have a “happy feel” and the food quality was very poor. The presentation of food in...

Poor anniversary experience

Ordered breakfast to room – cart was lost – no breakfast. Buffets shut down early, had to find food we didn’t want. Rude employees, language barrier; poor restaurant scheduling, can’t eat here, can’t eat there, when special events were held, doors were closed and we had to find alternate way to restaurant , buffet, etc....

Pluses and minuses on this cruise

This was my first Crystal cruise, and to be honest it may be my last. There was nothing I hated, but I prefer the vibe and general experience of smaller ships on the Silver Seas and Seaborne. I didn’t like the sitting at mealtime and prefer to go when it suits me, and I was...

Small ship big experience

I had sailed on Silver Wind down the West Coast of Africa in 2013 and was very satisfied. In this case, the ports were not as interesting as the glamour that surrounded being in such ‘less-travelled’ part of the world. The attraction of this 2015 cruise was the itinerary – Asia to Muscat in the...

Short Break Sunshine Coast

Well 7 middle aged women and 1 cruise ship! Cocktails in hand we sailed away at the aft ( or arse end or back) of the ship at the Oasis Bar – seriously my favourite area on the ship! Food in the Waterfront restaurant and the Plantation Buffet was very good. Dinner one evening in...

Felt very second class

Have returned from a Med cruise on the Victoria and not likely to sail on her again. The ship is segregated between Grills (first class) and everybody else (that was us). At every point in the voyage we were reminded that we weren’t Grills, from the onboard announcements to restricted access to parts of the...

Great staff

Thoroughly enjoyed our trip on the Nieuw Amsterdam. It’s a bit bigger than we usually prefer, but we never felt over crowded. The high point was the staff who were very good. Every one of them seemed to be keen to make our time onboard special. Our room attendant was excellent. We had a verandah...

Disappointed traveller

Our Alaska cruise from Seward to Vancouver had its highs and lows. The highs were: experiencing the Hubbard glacier; cruising Glacier Bay and having a balcony cabin. The lows were: very poor customer service in the two free dining rooms; mediocre to poor dinner entrees; horrible vegetarian Indian food in the special buffet set up...

Our first cruise on the MSC OPERA

One word: Awesome The staff, the service excellent. We had a great time for the seven days on sea. Entertaining amazing. Only down fall was the photography as it’s very expensive.
